We caught one, no five!

We went to a place called Hornings Hideout this weekend. (I have written about this place in a previous post). We love it there. You can rent fishing poles and you are pretty much guaranteed a fish. We were lucky enough to catch 5 fish. Ashley caught the fish in the video (I can not get the video to work. When I do I will publish it), then Mitchell caught a fish, then Lindsay caught 3 fish in a row. In the video she looks pretty sad since her sister caught a fish first, but in the end she was pretty happy. My camera died before I could take any pictures of Lindsay's 3 fish.

We also went on the paddle boats. They were so much fun. Hailey absolutely loved it. Since this place is so close to our home (8 miles) I am thinking of taking Hailey while her sisters are at school. There will be no fishing allowed since I am a sissy when it comes to baiting the hook, taking the hook out of the fishes mouth and cutting the head off. GROSS! Hailey was freaking out when Mitchell cut the fish. She thought they were going to be her pets. It was a really fun weekend!

Party Time

Ashley and Hailey just had their birthday parties. We had a family party for Hailey. She is holding up three fingers showing you that she is now 3.

Ashley had a princess party but then she invited (without talking first to mom) a boy so he was the pirate. We decorated wands, crowns, cupcakes, played lots of games and just had a lot of fun. I am glad that I am done with birthday parties until April.

We took Ashley to Chevys for her birthday and they gave her this icecream and her sombrero. She thought that was pretty cool. Lindsay knows where she wants to go for her birthday.

Soccer Daze

Here are some pictures that I took at soccer practice today.

Fun while the kids are at school

Hailey is a different person when her sisters are at school. For about 2 hours today she played house in her room and I did not hear a peep from her. She loves her sisters, but she also loves her space.

We decided to bake cookies together. We had a great time. She was so proud of them when we were done. They were really good also. Lindsay and Ashley loved them when they got out of school.

School is in Session.

School started a week ago for Lindsay and Ashley. They like school so it is fun to ask them how school is going for them. Lindsay is in the third grade this year. She is really excited that she will learn how to write in cursive. She is trying to figure it out all by herself and she is doing quite well at it. Her teacher is new to our school and Lindsay said that she is funny and is a good teacher. I was worried, but she will do fine.

Ashley is in a 1st 2nd combined class. She absolutely loves her teacher and is doing really well. I was worried about her being with second graders, but they are kids that are slower in reading and so they are all pretty much at the same level. We went to a school picnic the other day and she knew a lot of the kids that were there. I was amazed that for one she remembered all of their names, and also that she had so many friends. It was great to see.

Hailey has started working with mom on preschool stuff. She just turned three but she will be in school in two years and that scares me. I want to make sure that since she will be the youngest in her class (she just makes the deadline by 7 days) that she will already know how to read. We will see if that happens, but so far she is doing great.
