Our Baby is 1!!!!

I can not believe that my baby boy is getting so dang big.  It has been such a joy having him in our home.  The girls absolutely love him and fight over him all of the time which makes it nice to have big helpers.  They love to take him out in the hall when he cries in church and I think that it has become his new game because the second he comes back into the chapel he cries until he gets out.  

 

He started standing up to furniture and crawls everywhere.  The other day he let go of the couch and stood there by himself for about five seconds until he sat down on the floor.  He says Dada really well but we can not get him to say Mama again.  He has said it a couple of times but refuses to now.  We think he has said yes and he nods his head yes but just for fun.  He adores his Uncle Adam, who at this time is living with us, and will just cuddle up on his shoulder or play with him for hours of his uncle will let him.  Adam has been working on having him say Adam and it definitely sounded like he said it yesterday.  It was pretty clear and adorable.

He loves to grab anything and throw it, then crawl after it, then throw it again like he is playing a game with himself.  He loves to make car noises and play with his toys or make anything a car.  He is definitely a boy!  :)

At his 1 year checkup on his birthday he weighed 22 lbs which is in the 25-50%, his height is 28 1/4" which is in the 5-10% and his head is in the 97%.  He had three shots and did really well. 

 He had his own cupcake for the first time on his birthday.  At first he just looked at it but then he enjoyed eating it and wanted more and more.  

 Hailey enjoyed the cupcakes also.

 He does not go anywhere without is pacifier.  It will be hard when I have to get rid of it, but for now the Dr. said he can keep it, until 18 months old that is. 

He is not a huge fan of baths so I picked up some bath toys for his birthday to see if that would make his baths more enjoyable which worked for about five minutes until he was done and wanted out.

 I love this picture for two reasons.  One, you can see his beautiful blue eyes and Two how much he looks like his Daddy.  He loves sitting on Daddies lap and crawling over to him for a smile.  We are constantly being told how much he looks like Mitchell.

Calvin loves to grab Teddy's pillow and crawl away with it.  He thinks it is so funny to torment the dog.  After awhile we have to give back the pillow to Teddy since he starts to think it is not funny any longer and we are worried he will bite.  Calvin thinks it is hilarious though and just laughs and laughs.  Talking about laughing he adores Hailey and laughs almost every time he is around her for different reasons.  She will make a funny noise and he laughs, or she will sit on the couch and add a little bounce and he will laugh.  For some reason he thinks she is hilarious.

We just love this little guy.  He is so much fun and we love having a baby in our home again.
