Trick or Treat

What a fun day for the kids. My girls have been looking forward to this day ever since last halloween. (Seriously) They love to be able to just knock on someones door and get candy. They think that is pretty cool. This year Hailey was really into it. She changed her choice of costume at least 5 times. I found her costume on sale at 75% off yesterday for $3.75. She loves to play dress up so I thought it would be perfect to get it for her for Halloween and for her dress up trunk. Too bad it is too small for her to wear for too long though. She looked adorable in her witch costume as you can see.

She made sure that she told everyone that she is a nice witch, not a bad witch. Hailey and I went to the girls Halloween parties at school. They have the younger kids walk around to the classrooms to show off their costumes. There were a TON of pirates and princesses this year.

I was so glad when Ashley chose this costume. We already had it and all that we had to buy was the hat that, again, the girls will put in their dress up trunk. In a house full of girls we have a lot of dressups.
The picture is taken at Ashleys classroom party at school. They were able to decorate pumpkins.

Lindsay had to settle for a blushing bride. She really wanted to be a dead bride but I just could not do it. She is my little princess.

She is waiting paitently for her classroom Halloween party.

Hailey loves her big sisters and especially loved that she got the same treats at the classroom parties as her sisters did, but double! (Since she went to both Lindsay and Ashleys parties.)

We had our ward Trunk or Treat tonight. I could not figure out how to decorate our car so this is what I thought up.......
My car turned into a ghost. BOOOOOOOO

I had to get in on the action and dress up also. I was a nice witch just like Hailey. That hair was really difficult to handle. It was all over the place. (Just so you know that bag of candy that I am holding was the candy that we passed out, I did not trick or treat. We did have a mom trick or treat to us tonight though.)

I Love Fall

This afternoon we went on a walk and the girls found a big pile of leaves. They had to jump into them and they had a great time. I just love this time of year. It was getting dark so the pictures are kinda hard to see.

Sisters having fun!

Having some leaf throwing fun!

My Scale is going into the Garbage!

This scale has given me nothing but troubles since I have started exercising. It puts me into a good mood when I see that I have lost weight. It puts me into a bad mood when I do not see any progress. It puts me into a frustrated mood when I see more weight on there then when I began exercising 7 weeks ago. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? How can I lose 3 lbs then gain 4 back in one day? I weigh myself at the same time everyday, on the same scale. It is just so frustrating to me. I went to bed pretty depressed last night so I have made up my mind that I am going to throw away the stinking scale!

I feel a great rush of emotion. I am excited! I am wondering how will I know if I have lost weight. I am feeling free! HORRAY! I am going to conquer this once and for all. My enemy will be in the garbage soon, right after I weigh myself one last time. Ha Ha.

Halloween Party

We had a fun little halloween party with some of our neighbor friends and a couple of friends from school. It was a lot of fun. We decorated carmel apples, watched Nightmare Before Christmas, ate pizza, played games and had a lot of fun. I am so done with parties for a couple of months though. They never go as planned. The kids got bored with the movie so we turned it off before it was over. That messed up my plans and it got the kids all riled up. We came up with some fun games.

Snow White, Blushing Bride (She now wants to be a Dead Bride) and a cowgirl.

This is a balloon relay race. You pass the balloon over the first persons head then the next person passes it between their legs, then the next person over their head and so on. It was fun. My favorite costume of the night was the girl that was half angel and half devil. We had some cute pirates and witches also. We also had a ghost come to visit us. (The young boy passing the balloon in the picture. )

We also played a mummy wrap game with toilet paper. Lindsay and her partner won. It was a lot of fun.

Doesn't she make a great mummy?

Pumpkin Patch 2007

We had a fun time at the pumpkin patch today. It is such a fun place to go with a boat and a train that you can go on. Ashley is "Star of the Week" this week so she got to bring her class teddy bear along. That is why she is holding a red teddy bear in some of the pictures.

Flashback Friday

I have noticed that other people do Flashback Friday so I thought it would be fun to do. My computer crashed a couple of years with many many priceless pictures of my girls so I do not have very many pictures. You would think that I would learn from my mistake and make a copy of my pictures onto a disk. I have yet to do that mainly because I have no idea how to.

Here are some fun pics of the girls growing up.
I named this picture, "Priceless". I love this pic of Lindsay and Mitchell holding hand in hand. This was about 2 1/2 years ago.
I love the look on Hailey's face. She has no idea what to do. Look at all of that hair! She was only 1.

Mitchell loved it when her hair was up in a poney tail. I think it looked pretty cute myself.

This was taken last year at the pumpkin patch. As you can tell Ashley lost a couple of teeth.

Hailey did some strange things when she was young. She loved to suck on your nose. Here she is sucking on my brother, Adam's nose. I sure do miss him. He is on a mission in Portugal right now.

Please do not mind the disgusting mess. Lindsay was suppose to be cleaning and instead I found her sound asleep. What a weird way to fall asleep.
What proud big sisters. They were so excited that Hailey was finally here. I was so thankful for my sister and sister in law for watching my girls for me while I was in the hospital.

"Ha Ha, I'm In Gymnastics and your not"

These are the words that came out of my sweet daughters mouth to her older sisters. Little does she know that her sisters have gymnastics on Tuesday while she gets to sit and watch. She is just at an age right now.

Here are some fun pics of her first day at gymnastics. She did a great job.

I'm not scared of that high bar.

I am a big girl.

I can do it all by myself.

Don't fall! It freaks me out she she does this! She is quite good at it though.
Where has the time gone? My baby is such a big girl. She tells me quite often, "I'm a big girl, Can I get my ears pierced?"

The Day has Finally Come!

Hailey has been waiting for this day to come for a year now. She gets to go to gymnastics for the first time today. Her sisters were in gymnastics last year but she was too young. Lindsay and Ashley taught her quite a bit once they got home, but she still wanted to go to class by herself like a big girl. I did not tell her that she had gymnastics today until a couple of minutes ago. I did not want to hear, "Is it time yet" a million times. Now I will only hear it 100 times. :)
Here is Hailey all ready for her class. Can't you tell she is very excited!
This was taken in June at the girls competition with their teacher. They had a great time. (Doesn't Lindsay look younger than Ashley in this picture)?

How did she think of that?

Hailey loves ladybugs or any bug as a matter of fact. She loves to hold them and make them her pet. We were cleaning in the yard and she found a ladybug that she had to have. When it was time to come into the house I forgot that Hailey was holding a ladybug and she brought it into the house with her. She ran to the office and this is what she made:
What is it you might ask? I asked the same thing. It is a house for her ladybug. It was pretty cute.

After I took this picture she told me that she did not know where the ladybug was. I guess it is not a bad bug to have around the house. It could be worse.

Cleaning Day

I know that it is crazy and I never thought that I would say it but today I love the television. I love that I can plop my daughter down in front of it and I can fold 6 loads of laundry, clean a disgusting bathroom, clean the living room, clean my bedroom and do the dishes all without being bothered a single time. I know it is horrible but today I do love that. I usually turn the tv on in the morning so that I can get ready for the day and then I will turn it off and do something constructive with Hailey, but today my goal was to get my house somewhat clean.

I vow that tomorrow the television will be off and I will do something with Hailey. For now I will enjoy looking at my friends blogs, preparing my talk for Sunday and not being bothered in my clean house.

Fun and Relaxing Weekend

Since the girls did not have school Wednesday, Thursday or Friday I made plans to go on some sort of trip with them during that time. Mitchell was also going to take the weekend to go hunting so I decided we would all go and spend time with him and have a trip for ourselves. We left Friday afternoon and drove down to Roseburg, Oregon (which is about 3 hours away). We booked a hotel that had an indoor swimming pool and a continental breakfast. We had a great time.

The girls and I went swimming 5 different times. We really took advantage of that pool. The water was freezing, but after about 5 minutes you would get used to it. There was a spa there also so we would freeze, then jump into the spa.

Hailey was so funny. She wanted to go into the spa while we were in the pool and I told her that we would not go into the spa until we were done swimming. She looked at the pool and said, "Mom, your friends are in here and my friends are over there (pointing to the spa)." It was amazing that she thought I would fall for that. :)

It was so relaxing to be able to wake up and not worry about cleaning the house, answering the phone, cooking breakfast or doing anything else that takes energy. I just layed in bed until 8:30. That is unheard of around here. I truly had a great vacation!

Mitchell saw a couple of Doe's but no Bucks. He also saw a lot of turkey but they were on private land. As we drove home I was sure that I was going to see a wild turkey. After driving for about an hour an a half I finally saw a group of them by the freeway. It was pretty cool to see. The girls really thought that was cool also.

Kids say the darndest things

Yesterday I was in the car and the girls were talking in the back seat. I asked them to please not talk. Of course, being children, they started talking again. I said "please do not talk." Ashley said, "Lindsay is talking, I am chit chatting." It was so funny.

The other day I was making spaghetti O's for Hailey. She looked at the can and said, "Mom, those are Mmm Mmm Good."

I need to write these things down or I will forget them.

No School Today

The girls are out of school because of parent teachers conferences. They have been very innovative in finding things to do in the home since it is raining outside. I walked into their room and they had made this huge fort. Too bad that they did not play with it very long.

Now they are playing a game together. I am glad that they are finding fun things to do other than watching television.

Life Makeover

I guess that I am on a life changing fix right now. I am trying to change so many things about me at once it is making me crazy (in a good way though). I realized that I have not written in my journal since May 1999. Pretty sad. The last thing that I wrote said that Lindsay was just born. Today I have been playing catch up. I have tried to write a "brief" history of what has happened in the last 8 years. Boy have I missed out on a lot of memories. I vow that I will not go that long again.

I love going to my parents house and seeing about 20 of my dads journals that he has written throughout his life on the shelf. At times, I love to skim through to find my name and see what was happening in my life during that time. He is such a dedicated journal writer that it is wonderful. He is such a wonderful example to me! I want my children to get my journal and read some of the fun things that they did in their life.

As I was doing this I realized that today, October 16 has been 5 years since my Grandma Adamson died. It is strange that my cousin is buring his daughter tomorrow and tonight is the viewing. It is just strange that the anniversary is on the same day. I sure do miss her. I miss going over to her house just because I want to talk to someone, I miss being able to go to Pace's Dairy Ann to get a milkshake with her, I miss watching conference with her, I miss going to the Bountiful 24th of July Parade with her. I am so glad that I have so many wonderful memories of such a wonderful woman.

(I apologize, I am not a good writer at all. Half of the time I do not even make sense. I guess this is how things go on in my head and somehow I am able to decipher what I need to write down, hopefully you can too.)

Ashley is all better. :)

I guess that I need to post that Ashley is better. I forgot to let everyone know that important fact. She has complained about her stomach hurting but that is due to the fact that she hurt the lining of her stomach. Lindsay is now complaining that her stomach hurts. Here we go again.

Is this what happens when I am not looking?

I walked into the bathroom and found this...
one more....
It looks like a huge rat. It is our cat Smokey. I am glad that I just cleaned that toilet. :)

Thanks Mom!

Before I was a Mom

I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn'tstop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life somuch.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Goal Setting

I have been in the Young Womens Organization in our church for a year now. I absolutely LOVE my calling and I love working with the ladies and the young women that I am able to work with. When I was a Young Woman (Ages 12-18) I completed something called my Young Women Recognition Medallion. I completed a lot of personal goals and did some big projects to help me once I was married and started my own family. The Young Women's Program has changed since I was in and I can get the medallion again. It is a new one and I will have less goals to complete, but still it will take some time to do. Here is what I need to do as a leader to achieve my new medallion:

I have started my quest! YIPPEE! I really have not told anyone becasue I like doing things in secret but I have been exercising for 5 weeks straight. Mitchell does not even know that I have been exercising. :) (I actually should be exercising right now but blogging is so much more fun). I have not seen that much weight loss, but I can tell in my pants that the pounds are coming off. My goal is to exercise 5 days a week 45 minutes a day. I have kept track and I only missed one day because I was sick with the nasty flu. This is the best I have EVER done with exercising so I am really excited. Our program "Young Women in Excellence" is coming up and I need to display one goal that they have been working on during that year. I will be talking about this one.

Well, I better get to exercising before Hailey wakes up!

Humbled

This week has been quite a difficult one. On Monday I got a call from my mom letting me know that my cousins daughter was missing. She was at Lake Powell with her family. She was chasing her brother back and forth from the houseboat to the dock and he came back onto the boat and she never returned. Her body was found a couple of hours ago in the water about 30 feet from where they believed she fell in.

I just watched a newscast that my cousin, Austin (the father), was talking to a reporter telling of the experience. He shared of his love with this precious Child of our Heavenly Father. He shared how they put her body up on the houseboat and he and his wife were able to say their goodbyes to her. He also mentioned that he know that she had a "glorious reunion." For someone to go through what he went through I was truly humbled by how calm he was.

As I sit here, crying, I think about the day that I will be reunited with my Heavenly Father. I will also be reunited with all of my grandparents. I know that it will be a "glorious reunion." I am so very thankful that I KNOW that I will be with him again and that I will live with them again. If something happens to my children, like it happened to Austins, I will be with them forever. I am so grateful for that and I know that is the only way that Austin is able to get through this right now. He knows she is happy. He knows she is up there with people who love her. He knows that he will have a precious guardian angel watching over him all of the time.

My heart aches for him and his family, but it would ache even more if he did not have this knowledge that I have of eternal families. I know that his hurt will fade away over time, but I will never forget the feelings that I have right now at this moment. I am so full of love for my children and my wonderful husband who works so hard to support our family. I am so grateful that I will always be married to him, even after this life and sealed to my beautiful children. I truly have been humbled.

Crazy Hat Day

Today the kids get to wear a crazy hat to school for Crazy Hat Day. Ashley and Lindsay have been looking forward to this for awhile now. Since Ashley is sick she could not go to school today. She is not happy about this at all. I feel for her. She is feeling a lot better though so that is an improvement. I am going to have to do something fun with Ashley today like let her wear mismatched clothes or something (I am not very creative). Ashley was nice enough to let Lindsay wear her sombrero that she got from Chevys for her birthday. She looks so cute. :)

Poor Ashley (Part 2)

This girl is going through the ringer this week. First a bee sting then a trip to the ER. Yes, I said ER. She came home from school yesterday with a fever so I had her stay home from school today. This morning she said she felt like she was going to throwup, which she did. About an hour later she threw up nothing but blood. (Sorry if I am getting gross. This is what my day has been). I ran her to the ER and they did a chest x-ray on her and did not find anything. They also drew her blood to get her blood count and found that it was at a good level. She had an IV and some medicine to make her stop throwing up. After about an hour they gave her a popsicle to see if she would hold it down and when she did they sent her home. The DR. thinks that the blood was caused by how hard she threw up. She was gagging with nothing coming out. They think some of the lining of her stomach is what we saw. Anyways, tonight we are to watch her and if it happens again we need to take her back to the ER and she will get a CAT Scan. (I think that is what it is called). Lets cross our fingers that we do not end up there again tonight.

She is excited to take her hospital bracelet and her x-ray pictures to school for show and tell. I guess there is some fun that came out of this. (I think it is funny that I took a picture of this. If not for this blog I would not have taken such a picture. I guess years from now she will have her momento of what happened)

Poor Ashley

I got a phone call from a lady at the transportation department yesterday. She told me to meet Ashley at the bus becasue she got stung by a bee on her forehead. As I ran to grab the calamine lotion I could hear her screaming as she was getting off the bus. (I do not live too far from the bus, but she was screaming really loud) I noticed that she was not stung once, but twice. One time on her eyebrow and once on her cheekbone. Once we got her calmed down I gave her some medicine and the swelling went down.

Well, this morning this is what she woke up with.
The poor thing could not open up her eye. She is not happy because I told her to go and lay down and she said, "but Mom, it's Saturday." Hopefully it does not ruin her weekend.

Welcome to My Life

Since I am a resident Manager I get to deal with some crazy things. So, I got a phone call today letting me know that we have a sink hole here on our property. I is about 2 feet wide by 2 feet deep. It is in a strange spot so I have no idea what is causing it. Yesterday it was a little hole and today it has grown 10 times as big. Hopefully it will not grow anymore until we can get it fixed. The pictures do not show that the hole goes in and dropps about 2 feet. I stepped on it and it became even bigger.
Hailey is helping me secure off the area. She is such a big helper. :)

You have been Boo'd!

I found this really cute thing that you can do for your neighbors. It is such a fun idea. Instead of me writing out the poem, I will send the link. I went to dollar tree and found some really cute Halloween things there. I bought this ceramic pumpkin (it has no face so they can use it for Thanksgiving also). I then filled it with peanut and plain M&M's.

When I delivered them Hailey was really loud at one home so I know that the lady saw me through the window. When I came back from the house next door to her it was gone. I guess that it is the thought that counts.
