Calvin's Catchup

My baby is such a big boy now.  I can not believe it.  At his 16 month appointment he weighed 25 lbs and is doing really well.  When we had to take off his diaper to weigh him he scrame because he hates getting a diaper change but when he had three shots he did not even cry, silly boy.

He is not the biggest fan of baths, but when he does like them it is only for a short amount of time.  He does not care to stay in too long.  He loved getting water poured on his head and thinks that is quite funny.
He has taken a liking to the piano and on occasion you will hear him play a couple of notes.  Ashley thought he would like sitting in his high chair so he can do it all by himself and he loved it.  Maybe he will become a concert pianist one day.
(During his first haircut)
One day I took Calvin into his Doctor because I thought he had an ear ache since he kept pulling on his ears.  The Dr checked and said they looked fine but that he may be pulling because his hair was tickling him since it was getting kind of long around his ears.  I could not find anyone to cut it so I put my not so good hair cutting skills to the test and he received his first official haircut at 16 months.
(After his hair cut.  What a handsome boy.)
Calvin has a contagious smile.  He is such a well rounded boy.  I can't take him into the grocery store without people commenting on how cute he is or how sweet he is.

He loves to play outside!  He plays at the park with his sisters and loves to be the center of attention.  His sisters absolutely adore him.
He is really good at melting their hearts and gets them to do lots of things for him by just pointing at what he wants.  For the most part he is okay with being in a stroller and we have gone on quite a few walks.  His sisters love to make him giggle and chase him around the house.
Jean, from Early Intervention, has been coming over to our house for the past couple of months to work on helping Calvin to walk and with some of his motor skills.  We were really worried because every time we wanted him to walk he would lift up his legs and did not want to.  We bought him a push toy to walk around and push and he was so fast he practically ran.  We tried a lot of tricks to get him to walk and he just would not do it.

On May 29, 2012 I walked into the living room to find him letting go of the coffee table and he took about 7 steps, he then fell down and got right back up and took about 7 more steps, fell down and got back up and took about 7 more steps.  I was in shock and was so excited.  My baby boy was walking and he was SO proud of himself.  He had the biggest grin on his face.  I was able to capture his last 7 steps on video and I text messaged it to Daddy at work and he was so excited.  The girls had fun watching him when they got home from school.  By the end of that day he was walking everywhere.
Jean also helps us with is speech.  He says Dada and a couple of months ago said Mama but then he won't say it again for a couple of months.  He goes through phases on what he says.  As of right now the only word he has said is Dada, Mama and the "f" sound for food.  We are hoping that now that he is walking that the speech will finally come and he will start talking.

This little guy is amazing and we love him so much.
